Paychex sells Stromberg to Kronos |
It is no surprise to anyone that Paychex finally sold off Stromberg as it was never a good match for them. The tension between Paychex Major Market reps and Stromberg reps was pretty apparent, with very little loyalty between the two. After 5 years there was still no real integration with the higher-end Stromberg products. My guess is that Kronos will discontinue Stromberg and get those clients rolled on to Kronos systems. So the main looser here is the happy Stromberg client.
Paychex purchased source code for NetTime from Time America a while back, which they now call Time and Labor Online (TLO). Most of us know NetTime, so it is certainly not a threat on a feature or ease of use basis, but if Paychex can at least get it truly integrated it may sell. One more disconnected database to try to keep updated with the “Update Agent”, sure seems like low hanging fruit to me. Go get’em!
